My tastes are a bit all over the place but I find myself listening to these heavily lately:

  • Sword II
  • Black Country, New Road
  • Coaltar of the Deepers
  • Weatherday
  • Guitar Fight from Fooly Cooly

Long season by Fishmans is a beautiful piece of music. I think it is worth listening to both the studio and live versions also

My personal line is crossed if that user has a hateful stance that actively harms other users. I joined this instance for the hardline rules against hate and I do not think it is unfair to say that conservatives havent done themselves any favours in that regard. The general impression is that conservatives want people like me to not exist so it will always make me cautious.

I would really love to see a Gunpla/model kit community.

The only thing I still hold onto my account for is YouTube. I pay for mailbox.org which covers email, calendar and cloud stuff. Their website could be better but the service is quality and their privacy policy is tight. When I was on android I used a bunch of custom roms with microg. My favourite ended up being calyxos but they all had a little jank here or there. I dearly miss NewPipe for android as a replacement for the official youtube app.

Edit: I also pay for Kagi for search. The price is a bit steep but I have found it justifiable in terms of the value I get from it. Whoogle and Searx are good options too

I would recommend trying a vim extension for vscode first if thats what you're used to already. The learning curve can feel a bit daunting but once you learn some of the really basic shortcuts you will have already noticeably increased your efficiency imo

Nice! Im gonna throw these in. I havent had any warnings yet either but the experience of using the official YT site/app without some kind of blocker is horrendous.

For real, im shocked with how fluid this feels compared to everything else I have tried today. I get the occasional bad fetch for comments but thats about it so far
