The link does not say anything about AI, nor does it give an option to submit a complaint about AI. I also cannot find the quote you posted. Not saying I don’t believe you, but did your quote come from a different page? Or did you link the wrong page?

As an aside, this is probably best posted to a privacy community or a healthcare community.

I agree with this. As someone who is super lazy, I’ve tried this, with multiple recipes. It’s just gets gross, even after like 4 hours in the fridge.

Doesn’t matter if the base is just water, or some type of milk. And if you add in fruits or other stuff, just forget it. Make it fresh and wash out that blender.

I haven’t tried to freeze it, you might get decent results from that.

I really, truly, dislike this timeline.

Having work spaces that are inclusive of all, will draw all types of people to work there. And those work spaces are so, so much better off from the diversity.

Where I work is not perfect, but we have many different people there. And it is awesome working in these diverse groups. You really start to understand each other and come to better decisions to complete the tasks.

It is very difficult to motivate people to move to a different platform.

Meta continues to do shitty things. I deleted all my accounts 10 years ago because of said shitty things. The list of shitty things keeps growing.

I can try to be optimistic about the Streisand effect. But it would have to be towards positive experience with pixelfed. Enough people would need to move for it to not feel empty. Sort of like BlueSky during the election. Enough people frustrated with twitter, and (most importantly) see enough people, including celebrities, politicians and other influencers migrate to make it worth checking out.

Edit to add: I very much would love to witness the downfall of meta and twitter. We need these alternatives. And as much as people hate commercialization, all of these alternative spaces need some marketing to make them viable.

I would laugh if I saw a menu in Wingdings.

This is crap. The internet should be a utility. Not taking in account that people can’t really function without being online (banking, school, health records, other basic services). How much internet infrastructure is funded on the tax payers dime? Do we get a refund?

I’d argue Alex Jones is completely different in the eyes of the law. His Sandy Hook case and subsequent bankruptcy are very different than the fines levied against tech companies. Which is why there’s a huge difference. In general, crimes that done physically hurt people have less consequences. And that should change. Fining these companies a significant amount, so that they can no longer be considered a line item on the budget would be a good start. There definitely needs to be a change. But I’m no expert to truly evaluate what changes would be effective.

Happy Holidays to everyone. May the next few weeks be quiet.

This is spot on. And honestly, public service workers make so little compared to industry, it really doesn’t matter if they’re from a wealthy family or not - if they (public workers) have student loans, the forgiveness is deserved.

10 years can be difficult to get. I’ve known people who work for non-profits for 5 years or more, only to be let go because grant money was drying up.

Yooooooo! I love that. I’ll admit, if Subaru releases a “Baja” like car again, I’d be the first one to buy it.

Thanks for sharing!

100% with this.

I am all for more EV options, especially if it’s a compact car. But nobody cares about reveals. Just release them.

I’ve been waiting a very long time. I told myself the next car I buy will be an EV. Well, my 10 year old car finally cost die to repair than it’s worth.

My preferred car brand is quickly being killed off by Toyota (Subaru), and they have an absolute dogshit EV. I bought an EV, and I’m very happy with it. But the experience is not great. I will never buy a Tesla, and the other brands don’t have anything that makes me excited. I would be very excited about a Honda EV.

My data is already bought and sold by companies. But when government agencies do it, suddenly we only need to stop them. Stop this madness. It shouldn’t matter if it’s corporations or a government, why not stop the sale of people’s data?
