Playing the Spider-Man Remake on PS5 now. Very cool game. Got it after playing Miles Morales.
Patient Gamers
A gaming sub free from the hype and oversaturation of current releases, catering to gamers who wait at least 12 months after release to play a game. Whether it's price, waiting for bugs/issues to be patched, DLC to be released, don't meet the system requirements, or just haven't had the time to keep up with the latest releases.
No memes please.
@Subtex TotK if we're being honest.
But before that I was *obsessed* with SpaceChem, and will likely return once I'm done romping through Hyrule making extremely simple machines that fail at their basic tasks.
My son just bought TotK and I'm home sing to play it, but I'm already midway through AC Odyssey and Horizon Call of the Mountain, so I need to finish those first.
Decided to do my first play through of The Witcher. Never was a game that caught my interest, but so far I'm enjoying it. Not running any mods because I'm weird, according to my discord peeps.
I’m starting to play subnautica for the first time! I’ve heard good things but I’m finding the start a little slow, the loop hasn’t quite got me invested yet.
Love return of the Obra Dinn. Hope you enjoy it!
Subnautica is one of my favorite games. I had to pause my playthrough though because I was so tense playing it, kept setting off my thalassophobia. They do an amazing job creating a feeling of isolation.
You're in for a treat then! I never got around to finish it (Subnautica) though. Some parts are just so scary & isolating that I stopped playing, the devs did an amazing job at that! 🔥
sure hope you like having thalassophobia its a great game just be ready for some scares
Mostly just failing to Slay the Spire
That's how it's played!
I'm starting Factorio back up again, for better or worse... Just the other day I finally launched my first rocket! Feels good only took me 6.5 years of on and off play
I've just started The Dig which I fell in love with immediately. I've taken a little 20 year hiatus on adventure games but have got back into them this year.
Being an old time-starved patient gamer, I very happily keep a walkthrough tab open for whenever I fancy it. Highly recommended if you want to experience some classic games to the end but skip the frustrations and wasted evenings.
Was probably my favorite game - let alone favorite adventure - when it came out. The music is fantastic, and so is the story. I remember some puzzles being a bit too goldbergian, but as you say, nothing that a walkthrough can't alleviate.
Another replay of Shadow of the Colossus and also started Zelda 2 on NES. SOTC is always a favorite. Zelda 2 I'm a bit iffy on after really enjoying the original, but I'm still early. The stark change in style and gameplay direction threw me off in the beginning but I'm hoping to adjust.
Although, this week it's been hard for me to find time to play anything.
Halfway through Dishonored 2 ATM and loving it - feels a bit slicker and more polished than the original which I also adored. The game had a lot of issues with motion sickness in the past which prevented me from experiencing it.
Is the game enjoyable without playing the first one? Got it for free on PlayStation+ a few weeks ago but didn't want to miss on important details.
ah, my favourite weekly thread!
i'm playing Devil May Cry 5, i wanted to see what all the fuss was about action/gameplay-wise before starting FF XVI in a few weeks time (which I'm extremely hyped for!).
i'm having a pretty great time with the game so far!
Pillars of Eternity. I haven't gotten very far yet but it seems like an incredible game.
Pokemon Trading Card Game 2: Great Rocket Attacks. There's a translation and I'm playing it on a retroconsole.
It's literally a "MORE OF IT!" sequel in the same engine to Pokemon TCG, except with twice the cards, a second island, and all of the old content is eventually available. They also improve on some AI quirks, and nearly all characters now have three portraits to show happiness and sadness. Also, the opponent decks are tremendously more well thought out (ez example: Electric users usually also have bird pokemon that resist the Fighting/Ground decks you're going to bring against them) so you could pretty much see it as a full blown DLC Sequel. It's also longer, way longer.
I wish I had this game as a kid. I have no idea why they didn't export it outside Japan. Pokemon Stuff was selling for truckloads between gen 1 and 2.
I've been playing Warhammer on the Return of Reckoning server. It holds up pretty well for an older game, and the pvp is fun. I've also been playing a little Diablo 2 and 7 Days to Die, with a soupcon of Civ IV
I love RoR! I come back every few months to enjoy the nostalgia. Such a missed opportunity that game was :(
Resident Evil 2 remake. Finished the first one last week and now I'm hooked! I can't believe I waited so long to play the RE games, but with all the remakes maybe it was actually perfect timing. RE2 remake is great so far.
Been about a year, but thinking about starting another Satisfactory play through.
Satisfactory is awesome. I've been meaning to get back into it too, so many new features and updates since I last played
The new update should also be around the corner, it's gonna be the biggest one yet. Their devs & community manager really hear the players, definitely one of the few gems out there
Finally picked back up A Link Between Worlds on the 3DS, inspired by watching SGDQ, after dropping out of it so long ago that I don't even remember how long ago that was. It's a total blast, even if I'm struggling to figure out exactly what I've already done and need to be doing.
A Link Between Worlds is really excellent, one of my favorites Zelda and perfect for a handled.
Satisfactory when solo, 7 days to die with the wife, Roblox/Minecraft with the child. The struggle is when you feel like the game you aren't playing, never enough time
Around halfway through Mass Effect 3 and playing Helldivers here and there with a friend in local co-op. Can't wait for Helldivers 2.
OpenRCT2. Finished the last of Wacky Worlds scenarios and the first Time Twister scenario last night. Continuing on the Time Twister scenarios tonight. Not quite speed running them but OpenRCT2's speed-up feature is pretty helpful when I'm just waiting for research or to earn enough money to build something.
Devil May Cry 5
I really love the depth of the combat and the style it has. It's like single player fighting game but with much more variety.
I'm currently trying to beat the game at the Dante Must Die difficulty level.
Going through Fallout 4 on my new Steam Deck. I'm loving this thing.
Finishing Horizon: Zero Dawn. Man that game is a slog if you try to do all the side quests. I'm trying to just B-line to the end now because I want to do a replay of Disco Elysium
Other than the side quests, how are you enjoying it? I adore the franchise overall, being a post apoc fan.
Black flag and cuphead
Playing Mass Effect 2 for the first time and loving it. By the time I make it through 3 it might be close to FFVII part two releasing
I'm playing Horizon Zero Dawn on the steam deck. Loving it so far!
I got started with Death Stranding, since it was available for free on the Epic Games store recently. I’m definitely positively surprised by the storyline and how well-made the character models/animations are. The walking/balancing gameplay is a bit more annoying than I anticipated, though!
Probably just gonna be playing some more Hoi4. It's working well enough on my laptop now, and a little kaiserreich Ireland playthrough is usually some good fun.
Just found the joys of XCom 2. I can't believe I never played XCom!
I am also trying to learn Crusader Kings 3. Shit is hard, yo.
Elder Scrolls Online. I was finally able to get into it, after years of wishing I could like it.
Edit: Also playing on Steamdeck, which may have a hand in my newfound enjoyment.
Got the Ezio collection on Xbox, and my son was like "I wanna try Assassin's Creed 2". So we're playing that, taking turns working on individual saves.
I've been enjoying Minecraft: Dungeons with the kids.
Halls of Torment. Awesome little roguelike/bullet hell. Very recent release, I know, but it feels as retro as they get.
I play Anno Mutationem on my Switch. I got a soft spot for indie cyberpunk'ish games and along with Dex and Cloudpunk this game fits the bill.
So far I am mostly impressed with the overall visual presentation: a mix between 2,5 and 3D and a pixelart aesthetic. Kinda hard to explain. But especially the city parts of the game look stunning at times and are a joy to explore: tons of little bits and pieces everywhere explain the world and happenings in it. So far the in game world is not very big but filled to the brim with stuff to look /talk to and collect. Really enjoy it so far!
The action part of the game is rather conventional: slash, jump and shoot and upgrade your gear. Works, but seems not as inspired as the 'explore the city' parts of the game. Also, some balancing issues can be a bit annoying. Nothing mayor though.
For the price (22€) the game is an absolute joy overall and a nice addition to my 'Indie Cyberpunk' games collection!
I basically only play FFXIV now, waiting for about a year for Diablo IV to be not $70 and for them to fix whatever bugs almost certainly exist and whatever other problems they're going to have.
