Haven't heard too many people asking for one either

[–] limeaide@lemmy.ml 1 points 6 months ago

Hey I was just thinking about our conversation today for some reason.

What are your thoughts on the headset now that it's been nearly a year since the announcement and it's been out for a couple of months now?

Not sure if you're still active on Lemmy but it's worth a shot

[–] limeaide@lemmy.ml 2 points 8 months ago

Also the customer service is horrible

You must not be outside then

In the communities where this music is popular, there are definitely a lot of classic songs coming out that aren't just background noise, and they actually turn up the clubs.

To people outside of these communities it might seem like they only survive 5 years, but if you're inside you'll recognize patterns in songs that keep coming up and that people listen to the most. That's what really makes them classics, not just random people on Lemmy deeming them as such.

Bad bunny, El Alfa, Tokischa, Chucky73, RaiwAlejandro, and Daddy Yankee have all been relasing songs that the community will remember for a long time and deem classics. Reggaeton is going through a second, smaller, golden age and it will be remembered.

Your comment sounds a bit racist ngl

Simple ≠ intuitive

For better or for worse, the widespread methods are not at all similar to the methods sometimes used in Linux. It's just a fact that most people are accustomed to different ways

[–] limeaide@lemmy.ml 16 points 10 months ago

The same MFs on here that rush to tell someone that Linux is easy and intuitive are the same ones that can't keep a small talk conversation for more than 5 mins, a social activity that humans have been doing for thousands of years.

My words might be a little broad, harsh, and even hurtful, but just a reminder that not all of us are good at learning the same things.

We didn't all come out of the womb knowing how to socialize or use Linux, but if we look back far enough, we can all relate to the struggles it takes to learn something new, and how much it sucks when someone treats you like you're stupid just because things sometimes don't click

I can personally imagine a better screen, speakers, controls, ergonomics, cooling, another USB C port, slimmer and lighter, etc.

I know that most of these things are already good, but they can always be improved. We've already seen other handheld PCs do some things better so I imagine Valve can improve as well

Whenever I hear this quote I also think of the developers/publishers. They need to have a good reputation so people buy their games.

I think that's why EA, Blizzard, Ubisoft, Activision, etc sales have gone down. I will not say that gamers react fairly when it comes to unfinished game releases, but it takes one bad game to ruin a developer. Especially when you consider how small the margins are or if they are publicly traded. Even developers with good games have recently been going out of business because it's not sustainable.

I also think of their legacies. Especially in a post-steam world, a game with a good legacy will continue to sell for much longer. I don't think a game like Watch Dogs ever got rid of the stink surrounding it, even though it isn't a bad game to go back to nowadays.

For the last 4 years I go back to Minecraft at the beginning of the year with a friend so I'm excited for this year's play through in 2-3 months

[–] limeaide@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Recently started my first play through. Enjoy!

I recently started playing Divinity Original Sin 2, and I went through this problem as well until I changed the way I approached the game.

I just let go of trying to make the most optimized decisions and instead just make the decision I, or my character would make (if I'm role playing).

I just realized that no matter what decision I make, it will still lead me to finish the game. If I really want to, later I can go back and play it again to see more of the game. Only if I like my first play-through though.

I agree with you for the most part. I do believe that mobile gaming is the future just bc of cheap it is to produce. I can see more and more games being optimized for ARM chips every year.

Yeah mobile gaming is the reason why gaming is a bigger industry than Hollywood or even the music industry. It's just far more accessible than any console or PC will ever be. It only makes sense that businesses will start to focus more on it.

I believe that the only reason Microsoft paid so much for Activision Blizzard isn't for COD or the other IPs they have, but more for King. The owners of Candy Crush and plenty of other mobile games.

Most reviews done on the major sites are done by like 20 diff people and I would like something a little more personal. I watch some on youtube, but i also like reading reviews

Thanks in advance

Please let me know what your top 5 games are!

PHILOSOPHY

I mostly play easily accessible indie games. The device's main strengths are its low level performance and portability. However, it has some unavoidable weaknesses such as a low-resolution screen, short battery life, and performance with most newer games. I've never been one to complain about 30FPS, but on some games you can tell that they weren't made to be played below 60FPS. Apart from the device's weaknesses, I'm tired of AAA games as they've become repetitive and formulaic. Nowadays, I prefer games with charm, personality, and gameplay that shines without relying on gimmicks, so I have turned more and more to the indie scene for my games. I also don't like supporting companies like EA, Ubisoft, Activision, etc.

I've selected the best games that I've played, that play to the device's strengths while minimizing its weaknesses. The battery lasts a long time, the device doesn't run hot, and you can adjust graphics settings for extended battery life if needed, but all games run at max settings just fine.

GAMES

Vampire Survivor: This game is a classic already. It can be picked up at any time you have 15-30 minutes. Really addictive and I've found myself saying "one more round" plenty of times. This is sadly the only game on this list not on GOG

Furi: In this game every fight is like a boss fight. There is a lot going on and it's one of the heavier games on this list, but performance will not be an issue. It is challenging, but I haven't really felt cheated when I died.

Enter the Gungeon: This is another game that has a lot going on, but does not suffer from performance issues. It runs smoothly and even though runs can get a little long somteimes, there is absolutely no punishment for leaving a run early and tbh, most of my runs end pretty fast lol

Katana Zero: - I have finished this game about 5 times already. It's a pretty short game, but the story is engaging and the gameplay is satisfying and addicting. I have been playing the speedrun mode for a while now.

Darkwood: I played this game in hour+ sessions. I wouldn't necessarily play this game as a pick up and play game since it is a lot more immersive. I think I've only played through 1-2 horror games before this one, but I might play more of them now. It's like when you play a competitive game after not playing it for months; you know what you're supposed to do, but your hands can't keep up.

BONUS

Rayman Origins: I know this game is by Ubisoft, but I bought it a while back and tbh I really enjoyed playing through it. I hadn't played a Rayman game since the PS1 days so this was a pleasant surprise. I thought I would play it for an hour or two until the nostalgia wore off, but I ended up finishing the game and enjoying it. Difficulty was just right for playing through it while listening to a podcast or while in a discord call. I didn't need to download a launcher and I feel like I'm supporting what I want more from the company. They have some great IPs and I would hate to see them die.

Extra Information

I have the 256GB model and I have not upgraded the SSD and I do not have plans to upgrade it anytime soon. All of my games fit on the device and I have found it a little fun to pick and choose which games I download on my device. Makes me think a little more before I download a game, instead of having everything available for me at once.
