EXACTLY. I keep seeing people say we shouldn't complain about rainbow capitalism in light of recent events. No, this is why we should complain about it!! People are just nostalgic for before they realized they were getting scammed.
With so many new holidays coming in each day even a company with the massive resources of Google couldn't keep up.

Just started using. It seems to be a good calendar. We got the 2 person Proton account and family sharing is great. I think you can also share it with any another Proton account.

Yup, it was shitty of the CEO to praise Trump's pick for FTC and the republican party in general. He was clearly sucking up to Trump. But he also did not remove a bunch of holidays from the calendar and reiterated they will continue ignore subpoenas from the US. I don't like what he said (and I had a talk with my partner about whether we should look elsewhere) but that is not bending the knee. It is a push and pull in regards to consuming products from awful companies and fulfilling needs. As long as they keep not complying with the US, I am tentatively going to stay with Proton. If you don't agree, that's fine, but no need to be a jerk about it.
Hey man, I wasn't trying to be a jerk, I was trying to make a joke. Sorry if it came off badly, probably not my best phrasing. I guess there's a joke to be made about my jokes in there somewhere.
Truth be told, I'm salty about proton, not necessarily about what the ceo said (that too), but its like a canary in the mine, isn't it, a portent of things to come. So many companies are bending the knee, ufortunately.
I used to pay for proton becase it saved me time and piece of mind, now since I left I have to self-host everything, because I no longer want to move my shit around every time something goes the way of enshittification. That means time and effort spent on setting up and maintaining everything. Its a chore.
Thats why I made the joke the way I did, because I'm salty, I didn't cook it proper. You have a good one and take care out there stranger.

I just switched from my Proton package of services to alternatives. For mail and calendar, I went with Tuta and I'm surprised by how ignorant I had been to their functionality - really good!
