God, and here I thought "dusting" was a euphemism for something naughty lol

Mostly vacuum with dusting attachment and some Swifter duster thingies! A wet cloth also does a good job depending on the surface.

Dusting...

Feather dusters for most things. The less microfiber in my laundry the better. I do use the goop stuff though for hard to dust spots in my car.

Swiffer dusters. I'm one of the many "allergic to dust" folks. I know it's dust mites, whatevs. I'm not normally into disposable things, but it works. Once a week in the main areas of the house, but if I focus on a room that I don't hit once a week, I'll dust then. Swiffer dusters grab the dirt fast so one swipe is all it takes. It doesn't just push the dust around or stir it up into the air. I find it takes me about 2 minutes to dust the main areas of the house (flat surfaces only). It's weirdly fun so I dust more than I did before.

I'm a bit ashamed to say, but I haven't dusted my room in weeks... I need to and I want to. But I always get distracted, forget and then say "I'll get to it another day" once I remember.

My desk has a thin dust layer just chilling.

I don't know why this and just tiding my desk in general is so difficult. Sorting papers and dusting are the two cleaning tasks I'm terrible with. No food or plates etc though. Just papers and dust

I use a long duster on a stick, like a big fluffy cat tail. It's made of microfibre fluff, works really well dusting my computer and office area. I do it once or twice a week, when I need to procrastinate.

And as a bonus to clean it I get to beat the hell out it against a brick wall on my patio. Good stress relief, dusting haha

A few years back I found a reusable Swiffer style duster at Ikea and it is still working pretty well for me on the rare occasion I think to actually dust.

I already replied, but I wanted to say that if you're allergic to dust mites and don't dust frequently, wear your covid mask and you will avoid most headaches. ~Learn~ ~from~ ~my~ ~pain.~

Twice a year at best, with a swiffer duster.

I’m using a wool duster! No plastic/no waste and I feel like the fibers do a decent job of grabbing dust while also being easy to wash. Probably not as good as a feather duster for delicate things but I feel like I can shake and beat it pretty aggressively to get the dust out.

Swiffer every couple weeks or whenever I notice dust building up. I like that it doesn't just move it around or kick it back into the air. Takes about 10 minutes to swipe over all the solid surfaces. I couldn't imagine taking more time.

I have one of those camera lens air bulbs that I use to dust my desk off, then just vacuum.

I thought this thread was going to be about The Expanse.

I use a damp microfiber cloth. If I've been slacking and there's extra dust, this method has the advantage that I can rinse the cloth and keep using it.

I bought my microfiber cloths years ago when there were less options. I don't know whether the cheap ones even work. These were spendy, but they last forever and make my life easier.

Anybody have cheap ones? Opinions?

The robot vacuum takes care of most of the dust. Rarely had the motivation needed to manually keep up with the vacuuming, but I can manage pushing a button, and emptying the dust bin a couple times a day. I guess I need to keep up with tidying the previous day’s entropy too so the robot can actually do its job.

It turns out that a lot less dust accumulates on surfaces if dust clouds don’t get kicked up when one walks around. Who knew?

When I get the motivation to dust (approximately quarterly), it’s a combination of the surface dust vacuum attachment, microfiber dusters, and damp cloth.
