the big stickied thread is getting cluttered with lots of new people and the "how was your week" thread isn't a great fit for introductions, so it seems about time to make this a dedicated thread of its own so peoples' posts aren't getting lost.

tell us a little bit about yourself, folks. don't gotta be too specific or revealing, just whatever you want to put out there. this'll be a good way of getting to know all the people you're now on here with

I could have sworn I managed to get a post in here saying “Hi”, but I don’t see it. So hello and glad to be here. Love the concept of the fediverse and was excited when I came across this. I have updated my profile and look forward to being apart of this community. Wishing everyone an awesome day and weekend!

It's pretty likely it got eaten in a server error somewhere. I had the same a few times. It's just growing pains for this community.

Yes, thank you for bearing with us. We've upgraded the server 3 times in the last 24 hours (thank you everyone who donated!!) and we've enlisted the help of several sysadmins. If you're a big transparency nerd feel free to drop by our discord or element, we chat about what work is going on openly because we want everyone to feel like they have insight into what's going on.
