Musk owns stock worth billions. Stock is a liquid asset, meaning he has billions in liquid assets. The $2.6T market cap is what the public shares of MSFT are "worth." They are owned mostly by people and orgs other than Microsoft, meaning that value is not an asset to Microsoft.

Your comment is low-effort. Don't do that.

Market capitalization means that every share of MSFT combined at the current price is worth $2.6T. The company has $100B cash on hand. That's actual cash and investments that could be easily converted to cash. Substantially less than $2 trillion.

I don't know the first thing about building stairs but I can tell you what I'd do to learn: not use YouTube or social media as a primary source for learning.

You should go to the library and find a book or five that talk about stairs, including basic principles. Maybe buy one of your favorite books or use that information to find one online.

This is major structural work on your home. You can cause a bunch of damage and expose yourself to uninsurable liability if you do it wrong. Unlike many other projects, you can't necessarily redo a wrong turn you take here without substantial investment. If you don't have someone you 100% trust to build stairs themselves watching over you, failure to adequately plan can make this a nightmare.

Blaze Foley's Live at the Austin Outhouse

https://open.spotify.com/album/20jfTvbCUwJjOAhPkeIv61

Blaze was an outlaw country artist who, like many outlaw artists, struggled with relationships and substance abuse. His awareness of these issues made his music more powerful and his early death even more tragic. Recently a biopic was made about his life, named Blaze.

Its manufacturer claims the filter can remove far more contaminants than other filters. Yet the Big Berkey is not independently certified to NSF/ANSI standards, like our other filter picks are.

GPL are fanatics who are leeches off of other peoples work to build anything.

Can you expand on this? I genuinely have no idea what you mean. Are you suggesting that devs who release under GPL are stealing something?

Why would someone giving away free software bother you? What part of GPL upsets you?

Do you mean something other than https://beehaw.org/communities ? It has a local/all toggle and a search function. On the web interface, it's on the header of every page.

I grew up playing the EV series and I love Endless Sky. Is there something about the clone that you don't like? I can't thing of a change that I dislike. For example, fleet management is improved. Being able to dock your various ships and escorts is pretty cool.

It happened to me on a PC browser. After clicking on a post, I hit the browser back button. The top of my "all" feed reappeared with ~20 posts from a single smallish community on another instance. They weren't there before. Scrolling down, the previous feed resumed, so it seemed like those new stray posts were stacked at the top of my "all" queue.

I agree that political discourse can be exhausting. That exhaustion will frequently lead to frustration. It's frustrating to repeatedly engage in an activity without seeing regular progress towards your goal.

I firmly disagree that political discourse "does nothing to improve the world." Without discussions, which will often involve disagreement, there are fewer opportunities for personal engagement in the political process. As with formal schooling, a personal engagement in the subject matter can help develop a person's comfort and confidence with the subject, refine their understanding through overcoming obstacles, expose their ignorance of specific areas, and promote continued social engagement in a community focused on learning.

Greek forums, French salons, and taverns all around the world served as physical communities for political discussions for contemporary and future political leaders. They were part of the birth, rebirth, and refinement of democratic ideas that became ideals. Some of which became laws.

Online political discourse is now possible. It is cheaper and easier on an individual level to engage in an online discussion than an in-person community. It's a mixed bag. There are many examples of bad online behavior, but anyone who reads this post is probably looking for something that is for some reason difficult to find offline. My personal politics are influenced by a combination of offline and online experiences, and I'm glad for both kinds of experience.
