I use Bazzite (which is steam now but community maintained for more PCs) for my htpc and PopOS for my main PC, both play every game I can throw at it. Maybe it's time to try it out. I started with a windows dual boot and found myself using it less and less, until just a couple months ago I deleted windows completely

Idk I'm personally torn. I understand what she's saying. Being famous is intense, and people expect too much. At the same time, your own fans are literally paying money and expecting you to be there. They paid for hotels, travel, food, and more just to see you. And it's "too much"? Well, why would I want to pay money to go s e you now? What if it's too much for my concert?

Idk if you don't want to tour and you just want to make music fine, but touring and cancelling shows? That's a huge let down to all of your fans, not just the crazy ones

Like I'm all for that we need to hold a fire under corporations. But we also need to change too. Just because they do like, 70% of it doesn't mean we're off the hook. We're buying those products that they pollute for. We drive the cars that are polluting. We buy the cheap clothes that they shamelessly pollute. We each have to change.

Advisors are definitely the worst people I ever met in academia. Their entire job is to help you, and yet I had one that set me back more than any other person has my entire life. I was late in graduating, I missed out on a second degree which I didn't know. I was even close to, nice straight up had classes that I didn't even need. All while claiming that they help and care for their people

If it's their kid everyone should slow down and be safe. If it's anyone else's kid then they're just in a hurry and you wouldn't understand

I know people who DRIVE to the school 2 blocks away from their home! It is just baffling to me! Okay let's say you just have to helicopter and go pick them up, you still have to DRIVE?! Just walk over! "Oh well it rains" _umbrella "but in winter" coats. Ffs it's two blocks.

If there's anything I know, it's that gamers all have a problem with aloys appearance, positive or negative.

We continually evaluate ways to invest in our businesses and more effectively manage our resources and costs to fuel the state-of-the-art creativity and innovation that consumers value and expect from Disney. As part of this ongoing optimization work, we have been reviewing the cost structure for our corporate-level functions and have determined there are ways for them to operate more efficiently.

God am I fucking sick of shitty corpo speak. You're laying people off. You're firing them. Do the bare minimum and own up to it.

This is like, the entirety of nextdoor. That is the most toxic place on the Internet

This will enable the biggest entry in the franchise to fully deliver on its ambition, notably by fulfilling the promise of our dual protagonist adventure, with Naoe and Yasuke bringing two very different gameplay styles.

How many times do they have to be told? Huge open worlds are great! IF they have stuff to do in them. Odyssey had a great huge open world that was incredibly detailed - then they filled it with a mediocre story and a million fetch quests.

Cyberpunk, as an alternative, had an extremely in depth story and each side quest felt like you were making a choice or that thought went into each one. Even the gigs were detailed and had thought put into them. Yeah they started to blend together, but I never felt like I was just running over, picking something up, then finding the next thing to go pick up, and repeating for 6 hours per area with 36 areas.

You wouldn't be able to see otherwise

League of Legends: "That wasn't us, that was just our contractor who worked on our game"

That's a common cop-out in the tech industry. Too freaking bad, you wanted cheap labor, you're on the hook for cheap labor. (And I say that as a contractor. I know they paid me just because they didn't want to hire someone and pay them benefits). Time for them to pay the price.

Taylor officially endorses Kamala (poptalk.scrubbles.tech)

Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight. If you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most. As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country.

Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.

I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.

I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice. Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make. I also want to say, especially to first time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered! I also find it’s much easier to vote early. I’ll link where to register and find early voting dates and info in my story.

With love and hope,

Hey folks, I'm lucky enough to be in one of the few places on the internet that uses LTO.

I'm running LTO-8 tape. My current drive is kind of a dud, I'm interested in a new (to me) drive. Either internal in just an old desktop, or an external drive. I'm not afraid to shell out for it, but if I am I'm nervous to drop 2000 on just a random ebay seller. Anyone have any reputable sources? In the Seattle area if anyone knows a local one too.
