I have always been wary about free PT. I find the public quickly undervalues it for being free.

The reality is that any digital tcg that is also free to play can’t allow trading.

Any that do are NFT nonsense as they have to essentially force players to work to convert time into value.

Economics demand that value enter the system somehow, either through money or time.

Just started a hybrid job and can give one reason: being trained remotely sucks.

Every question has to be a chat/email/call and you don’t get the passive learning of hearing a solution that randomly comes in handy later.

Oh god, the next arms race will be AI blockers and AI that tries to dodge AI blockers.

Well, this is a huge indictment of Musk’s Twitter if meta reckons they can take a slice.

Will probably still die, but hey.

Since they are heavier than IC, pedestrian killing capability is increased.

Are you essentially saying that "conservative" no longer means "things should change slowly or not at all"? This would imply that conservative is basically a slur..which I guess I could see.

Lemmy seems to like the idea of using PT and Bikes, technically that is conservative.

Same with giving up suburbs, the old ways of living in dense cities is technically conservative lol

Also 20 years ago, Bush tried to fix how reading was taught in America.

Instead we are now fighting to undo the damage of three queuing.

Okay. I can dig a publicly owned YouTube.

Are you willing to spend your tax dollars hosting flat earth content?

Far right? Thinly disguised racism?

It’s ironic: but at least by paying based on what is watched, you give money to those you consume.

[–] sagacity 3 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I know people will hate this: but if we want stuff to be good for consumers, we have to be willing to pay for the stuff.

We ended up here because no one is willing to pay for anything (in aggregate).

Personally, I believe that YouTube js worth paying for, even if that means that my money is being sent to people I don’t necessarily like.

Nebula is a small piece of the game and they basically work by taking the successful YouTubers. Until they are able to foster new talent from scratch, they are not a replacement for YouTube (saying this a nebula subscriber).

Nonsense about “unobtrusive” or “acceptable “ ads are just lies we tell ourselves since, in 30+ years of web use, I have never seen one that the community will tolerate at scale.

If you can show me, please link.

For the record, I believe Linus mentioned that around half of the money for premium gets sent to the creators.

Certainly looks tantalising, can’t say no to more loot and shoots.
