@shreddy_scientist Honestly really glad I switched to Gnome a few months ago. Finally got tired of the uber-tinkery i3wm and wanted something that just worked and Gnome filled it perfectly. Now that Gnome 44 has added proper support for killing background apps I'm honestly very happy with how usable it all is. Can't wait to see what they do next.

@ada @cyclohexane Hopefully they open it up soon, I'm impressed by how many people are over there.

@ch0ccyra1n @KelsonV The interoperability is really cool! I'm doing the same thing, it's nice to be able to dip my toes into Lemmy without an account yet!

@altair222 I think it has absolutely been a net-win, compatibility has been improving. And there's a ton of progress that was made prior to the Steam Deck even being released that was (in hindsight) Valve gearing up to make something like it. It's also nice for there to be a defined (fairly lightweight!) platform for people to be aiming for when making PC ports. That being said I haven't seen too many Steam Deck users fall into being general Linux enthusiasts.
