Amazing band, one of the best gigs I've gone to this year.

I always liked the Monty Python one, and want to try the pirates themed one. Fluxx games are really fun indeed.

Depending on what I am looking for:

  • BBC Radio 6: mainly new stuff, although I have been surprised with very good oldies.
  • The newsletter To the teeth for all things metal https://totheteeth.substack.com/ The playlist in spotify is really good too.
  • Last.fm, even if it's not as used anymore, I still find very good recommendations there.
  • Spotify Discovery playlist has surprised me a lot in the past, but not that much lately. It suggests me what I was in the mood to listen to last week, maybe not that much today. The daily mixes are fine, but it's pushing the same songs too much.
  • The website https://1001albumsgenerator.com even if I am not a fan of some genres, it's good to learn about some records.

From this same thread I am sure I will use https://www.gnoosic.com in the future.

This looks great. I'm looking forward to getting the finished version.

The standard solo recommendation currently is Ironsworn: great mechanics, fun, and free. It's easy to play as all the rules can be explained as: throw dice and the result can be good, "good but (something not so good happens too)", or bad.

You also can get Black Streams Solo Heroes. A small supplement with rules for solo OSR. Maybe Cairn or Mausritter can be easier if you have no experience. Even Mork Borg has a free version, combined with the solo rules Solitary Defilement can be amazing if you like the setting

Some solo games are more focused on the journaling side, pretty much making up what happens based on some random prompts.

Another option is getting a game master emulator. There are lots for free that you could use pretty much with any game. "One page solo engine" is a great option.

  • Cartographers: I find this game relaxing, I enjoy adding some colour too (although I should get better pencils).
  • Cairn + Hex flower: I am doing some one-shots with the Cairn rules system. I like how easy the game flows with fewer attributes. About the Hex flower, I find them more interesting than the classic hex crawl mechanic.
  • Turing machine: just a couple of quick games to test it. I love the mechanics, I love the infinite possibilities, I love the puzzle. However, the last thing I personally need after work, is more logical/deductive thinking. I may buy it anyway...
  • Ironswon: Starforged: I just needed to fix a supercomputer, but now I am doing some research in a haunted starship because some people keep disappearing. I am still learning to be more forgiving on picking penalties with bad rolls, but the adventures are quite fun.

Tools used: Mythic GME 2ed, The adventure crafter, Adventursmith, Tabletop simulator.

Spending time making battlemaps is gaming too! But I totally understand what you mean.

Yes, I spent some hours (time passed quickly) checking some games in the workshop. I'm quite impressed with some of the findings.

Not sure if the recent bugs in Jerboa were fixed (at least not that I can see in my phone, so I can't use it at all), so I would say Connect.

However, wefwef looks and works amazingly well.

I just bought it today, so I really would like them to be welcome!

As a main solo player, do you have any suggestions? I got it to test new games before buying, but I can see myself using it exclusively for some specific games with long setups, so I can pause mid game to continue later.

I have Crunchyroll, YouTube and Spotify. Neither of them from my country, paying in total around 10$/year.

I have some friends my age still listening to the same bands they used to 20 years ago, complaining about how music today sounds all the same. However I discover something new almost every day and I'm not kidding.

It's true that some of my discoveries are bands from decades before I was born, so they can't be considered new, although they are new to me if that makes sense.

What about you? Still listening to the same tunes you used to listen to when you were a teenager?
