...by 'attack' are we talking signal-jamming, hacking, or physical disruption?..

...marvel super heroes also featured a resources ability score and feats to represent financial maneuvers akin to lines of credit; it felt frustratingly abstracted as a teenager living in a discretionary cash economy, but after several decades as a real-world adult i realise that it's an elegant abstraction for how people actually live and conduct commerce...

...i was going to say flashback or mean streets, but no, it was definitely the original tron arcade game; that pre-dated even war games...

...before a certain point in the early eighties, the line between cyberpunk and science fiction gets pretty blurry, so i don't think anything i played in the seventies counts...

...this is actually paizo's second 5e conversion!..

...many folks don't realise that their 5e kingmaker bestiary is actually a full conversion sourcebook for use with the published pathfinder adventure: unlike abomination vaults, you need both books to run it...

...i believe both conversions were outsourced, though, and after the OGL debacle paizo don't seem likely to repeat the exercise...

...not super-obscure in its day but very much a product of the mid-eighties, i doubt many folks are familiar with it fourty years later: michael crichton, tom selleck, gene simmons, peak kirstie alley...

...how would you characterise dominate person cast with indefinite duration?..

...upcasting dominate person at eighth level can maintain up to eight hours with concentration, so i'd be inclined to consider twenty-four hours duration equivalent to a ninth-level spell, but perhaps i'm under-gauging the difference in power between eighth and ninth-level spells?..

...regardless, in this particular case it was cast with indefinite duration plus disadvantage on the saving throw against a hostile player character, which i'd like to translate into mechanical terms: maybe a ninth-level casting with heightened metamagic plus silvery barbs?..

...i'm playing with a DM who has a poor grasp of fifth-edition's mechanical balance and i'd like to help him understand just how adversarial his homebrew and houserule tendencies are leaning, especially for early tier-two gameplay...
