iirc it's because it's a lot more expensive compared to normal gddr. It's still being used in the high end enterprise market.

Sounds like a problem specific to your hardware/setup. I've never had any issues with pipewire.

I recommend you try a live dvd with plasma 6 and check for yourself. I think kde neon should have it.
