And the Apollo dev said there were things they could have done, but the combination of 30 days notice, and the number of subscribers Apollo had who had prepaid for a year, (at a much lower price) the was no way to make that work. Plus Reddit had promised them no API changes just a few months ago.

For now, they are prohibitively expensive due to the monopoly that Sharrow has with their patent. But there are other ways, such as jet ducts, to protect wildlife. But it's not so easy to retrofit a jet into an existing boat.
I remember at a church I was involved in, they had to make a larger stall for ADA reasons. (Original building was from 1960) so they just moved the dividers without changing any plumbing and had a urinal and a toilet in the same stall, in order to make enough room for maneuvering a wheelchair.
Nobody wants to touch the plumbing, especially if it's down in the concrete slab.
They both use a similar protocol to talk between servers, but they are different software.
