Thank you for that reference! I did think it was a poor reasoning for US to say "you're distributing pirated material" versus their response of "it's the users who are distributing it". I'll look more into the SCOTUS case

Definitely lol but NZ didn't have a cause to arrest/charge them which is what I originally believed had happened
Yes!!! I love the longer form more thought out posts, but you perfectly captured the pros of each type! Both can be good for sure
I miss the medschool and step1/step2 subreddits. Especially going into clerkships it was such an amazing resource to have handy. I still might have to go back on desktop for info but would love a community here too
I just made like 3 accounts because I thought I was doing something wrong lol
Yes!! I’ve also found myself actually reading articles that are posted rather than just skimming headlines because people actually seem to want to engage beyond the same few points that were repeatedly made on Reddit
The imagery of the body highlighting different parts and then the table showing nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs for those parts was so well done
It looks like they were charged in the US. I didn’t see with what specifically but the US sentenced them to prison for about a year and they elected to do their prison sentence in NZ (which is allowing one of them to wait until the birth of their child before beginning their sentence). It looks like NZ’s role in this isn’t harmful (besides allowing foreign search of their home)
Does anyone know how to subscribe to this on the mlem app?
That’s so funny. I deleted my app - what’s happening on the other side?
Can someone who follows Twitch more closely explain the history twitch has with the creators on the platform?
I def understand from twitch's side. Youtube already was upfront about the costs of video hosting and Twitch seems to have hours longer (I'm not super familiar) videos and is becoming more popular. Not to mention the additional cost of being able to stream thousands of HD quality video. But also it seemed like after leak of pop Twitch creators income a lot of them were able to make more money off of brand deals, etc rather than just subs on Twitch
