these problems aren't actually caused by something prosecutors can solve.

Indeed, although they certainly can help prevent perpetuating it - instead of giving a drug user time in jail where their life further falls down the track thru could give them resources, or instead of giving a woman living on the edge of financial ruin a ticket, you could scrap the tickets

Unfortunate since people are confused on the whole federated aspect (which... who hasn't used email? 🤦🏻‍♂️), but also the interactions are much more rewarding since they're genuine and don't feel like an algorithm (since there is no algorithm).

Why blame the people who didn't vote?

Because voter participation was only 65% and dropped compared to 2020 (in fact, Trump effectively got the same votes) and this was an election about continuing our democracy, or enabling a fascist to avoid accountability. People were worried about who Kamala was and what she would do - that pales in comparison to what Trump will do

I mean, they've seen it before.

Unless they've somehow survived until now without being exposed to this thing called email.

At this point, I'm just resigned - let us go to the brink, allow the forces of Mordor to assail the walls of Gondor - either the white tree blossoms or doesn’t.

When people see that the doors are torn down and the city is burned, 10 million people will decide they shouldn't have sat out the election.

He still lost vote shared compared to the previous election.

How do you mean?

2020 Results:

Biden: 81,283,501 Trump: 74,223,975

2024 Results (95% Reporting):

Kamala: 70,383,093 Trump: 74,312,688

Trump effectively had the same number of people voting for him - and obviously had a bigger share of those that bothered to vote.

Do you not arrest the Beer Hall Putsch perpetrator because it will rile up his supporters?

[–] Midnitte 6 points 2 weeks ago

That is depressing.

Might also take a very long time (or a large amount of radiation).

Do you really need me to Google for you why the Golan Heights president is likely a worse outcome for the citizens of Gaza?

Fine, how about his commitment to arm Israel with no strings attached? No humanitarian aid, no cease fires...

Anyone who thinks the Muslim-ban president is a good outcome for Gaza only cares about the real estate value of Gaza.
