I've been somewhat out of the loop. What is going on with Lemmy?

To follow up here, the Ikea TRÅDFRI line worked very well once I'd worked out setting up "Mosquitto Broker" and "Zigbee2MQTT" as addons in Home Assistant (and, crucially, removing the "zigbee home assistant" ZHA addon). This worked for bulbs, buttons, and outlets.

Thank's to everyone for your comments and leading me to something that worked.

I know enough to be dangerous, so consider me a novice. Explanation below. I'm looking for no hassle light bulbs for home assistant.

Are there any smart light bulbs that do not require the use of an application to start some sort of setup for home assistant specifically with a Zigbee controller? I'm getting increasingly frustrated by not only the confusion generally in the spacedue to the high number of options and increasing centralization, but also just trying to find something that works without an additional hassle. Any recommendations appreciated by US based if that helps.

I'm using a conbee 2 controller for Zigbee with a Raspberry Pi 3B running home assistant.

Most frequently I'm annoyed because I got something that uses hubspace, which in theory I thought should work, but the application is required to set up the bulb and it will not run on my phone at all, and I'd prefer not to use it in the first place.

https://activitywatch.net/ doesn't take screenshots, But depending on what you're using it may accurately accurately record what you're doing in a different way.

This is another tool that doesn't exactly do what you're asking for but may also be useful. https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/ActivityJournal

No clue about Bluetooth 5.x, but your no hassle bet is always to start at ThinkPenguin. https://www.thinkpenguin.com/category/catalog/networking-gear-gnu-linux

I saw this on here and it's a really impressive application but my problem with it is that the saving of the files seems to be in some completely unique format and even though you can export it it doesn't really feel good to have to do that with something where you'd spend a lot of time writing.

I had a really good time over the past day and a half spending time writing in the application and I found it fantastic from that standpoint but I have already lost some of the work I've done because you can only have one open "project" at a time and you have to export it and even though it seems to save it it encourages installing as an application so there's problems here that really do need to be addressed so just kind of be forwarned that you're gonna have to export and save frequently, and it's confusing.

On a podcast called Motherfoclóir (it's about language) someone said something like "the only difference between a dialect and a language is an army."

Good loose leaf tea.

Figured I'd create a post since I saw some blogs talking about a 5A 5G issue with a black screen.

My partners device was misbehaving and at first we thought it was a battery issue, but eventually we discovered that the screen was just disconnecting or turning off because the underlying phone itself was still receiving notifications that we couldn't respond to you or interact with because the screens touch capacity was also not working.

I ordered a replacement screen from iFixit and did the Full Repair assuming that this would resolve the issue, but it did not. Same issue as before, just with a different screen.

Does anyone have any more insight into what's going on here? I've seen some reports that indicate this is some widespread issue, but it doesn't describe what the actual issue is and whether it is with the screen itself or with something on the motherboard or some other component. Any advice or insights or links appreciated.

I found upgrading silverblue to a new release somewhat confusing though. Other than that (which will improve, I'm sure) it's great!

Insightful. I believe that some of these issues are resolvable with better onboarding, but not all of them.

What I really wonder about is how people will interpret the damage, degradation, and collapses of important web communities. Some of this will really come down to the stories we tell ourselves about what happened, and how we respond to that story to prevent it from happening again.

Loads of different things depending on the year. The one I remember most was "sleight of hand magician"
