Family tradition vs ephemeral style rules: family tradition always wins.

Don’t worry about mixing your metals. If anyone gives you shit about it, shrug and say “family tradition, I’m so lucky to have a great family.” Ask what family traditions they have…

This one is 37mm, and looks just fine on my 165mm wrist. I have citizen’s 34mm promaster dive watch, which I recommend if you want to go smaller. Citizen calls it a women’s watch, but there’s nothing in the look of the watch that would make anyone call it a woman’s watch. (EP6050-17E)

Gadgetwraps have some decent inexpensive silicone with no texture and quick release bars. I have a few of their nylon bands and am impressed with the quality, very good. https://www.gadgetwraps.com/

Yeah, you always hear how it is less brittle.

Everyone is going to have a different idea of what signals solid quality without ostentation.

If I see someone wearing a Seiko, Citizen, or Hamilton; I assume they know something about watches but don’t care about watches as one-up-manship or display.

But then, I’m more interested in a well cared for Honda Fit than in a new Lamborghini, so take that with a grain of salt.
