This weekend, I have some plans to finish up my miter saw stand, and do some other "puttering" around my shop. Putting together a list of actions, and their order, to help me keep myself accountable (:

  • Align the miter saw at 45 degrees (it's a hair off)
  • Align the tablesaw blade arbor to the miter slots
  • Cut the parts for six total drawers
  • Build drawers, and install

I've always wanted to get into carpentry! This is so cool - hope all goes well!

Miter saws are easy to align … except for that last hair, aren’t they? Anyway, you left off the critical “step back, have a beer, and pat yourself on the back” step.

You're a lot more advanced than me—my current project is a softwood bootrack, built mostly with hand tools. I guess that means I'm doing Woodworking 011 (Remedial). 🤣

I used to do rough carpentry back many years ago, and now that I'm trying to make something that I care about, I'm reminded of just how much planning, prep, and care people need to put into their hobbies. No more, "hit it until it fits" in my garage!
