Yeah I used Tumblr religiously back in the "glory days". '09 to '15. Aged out of it but it'd be nice to have another platform to get content from, I especially miss their fandoms. So many wonderful, talented, creative people post great stuff but I find it hard to FIND them these days.

Weve both got issues but I think they're different issues that stem from different societal problems Edit not 100% different there is of course overlap

This was my immediate thought.

Just downloaded and almost immediately switched from Jerboa. So much less glitchy, smoother.

Notes:

  1. Fat thumbs means when I go to upvote a post it often brings me to the post itself because the "hit box" for the arrows are kinda small.

  2. Hitting home button doesn't bring me back to top. Might be nice to be able to toggle that on and off.

  3. Would be cool if I could swipe left on a post card to hide it. As of now I'm upvoting and then un-upvoting to register a post as read so it won't pop up when I refresh. Refer to #1, this really slows down the doom scrolling :p

Read this one earlier. Great article, wonderfully written.

Honestly i would never use another meta product, idc how nice their app would be. i like my funky jerboa app and that's that! Lol. But - i get your point. A lot of users prefer usability over privacy.

But here's my thing with that argument, which is valid btw, but why would I want to keep in contact with the "head in the sand" people who continue using Meta's instances (or whatever monster they end up creating)? I can't imagine anything meta could offer me that would make me use their fediverse product. And the people that migrate over to them - okay? have fun supporting an evil corporation that's using you as a money printer. Sayonara.
