Is this the first Mario platformer that has animation smearing?
Anyways, I really like that they're doing something else than the old "new" Mario Bros. Style.

Nintendo has been subtly adding more animati on techniques to their mario games. Like squash and stretch is in odyssey.

They've reached the stage where there is very few limitations for them in terms of graphics, now it's just a question of style.

Oh yeah. One thing they havent dont in a while( outside paper mario which is it's own kind of style), is making a 2d or cell shaded mario.
