Why YSK is to prevent your shoes from coming untied, creating a tripping hazard (plus it looks better).

Ian's Shoelace Site has 25 different ways to tie your laces. I've been using the eponymous Ian knot for years.

Bookmark worthy. Thank you, wise internet stranger. May your laces never come undone

I tied mine wrong for about 45 years. I use a variant of the strong knot he demonstrates here. It's a game changer. My shoes never come accidentally untied anymore.

The real trick is to reverse how you do the first part of the knot instead of trying to do your loops "backwards"

I've never even heard of the way that he's calling wrong. I've always tied my shoes with the bow going across the shoe.

Hello there. Please don't forget to include "Why YSK:" in the body text part of your posts :)

Done! Thanks for the reminder.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqXZHA46wTU A very fast way of tying your shoelaces.

I just stick with Merrell slip-ons, no need for laces and you don't feel like a child with velcro.
