I need to get back into this game I've only ever scratched the surface and then feel like I need to start over from the beginning every time I revisit so I can remember what I was doing. I freaking love trains though.

I keep trying to start, but quickly encounter perhaps overly strong negative feelings towards being a person destroying a fictional alien ecosystem for corporate greed, and quit again.

I run into the same problem when trying to play games like Before We Leave (iirc that title), which involves carpet-industrializing entire planets so that you can make rockets go do the same thing to even more planets.

Maybe when the story aspect is finished, if it's done well/is satisfying and involves escaping and or one-upping the corp, then I'll finally play it. πŸ™ƒ

It's only a fictional videogame! Haha! I can understand the feels though. I've been replaying the Mass Effect Trilogy recently and had decided to go full renegade for the lols, I got half way through the first game and realized I just wanted to feel good and decent about my choices and restarted for yet another paragon run! πŸ˜‚

Try Factorio, maybe. Eco destruction is core to the gameplay narrative.

if automation is your jam but the colonizing aspect isn’t (totally respect that), shapez may interest you. I think they have a free browser version to try it out too!

I'll always be one to encourage people to get into Satisfactory. As a user with 1100ish hours

The dystopian billboards along the walkways are a nice touch.

I try to keep morale high when we're back at the hub

Are trains well done in this game? I'm not super into the automation process but I love building trains and ferrying resources.

I'm very happy with them, currently I have about 40 trains running constantly and over 60 stations

I came to the same realisation. Brilliant game with so much to do.. and I spend 99% building a giant railway.

I realized when I started adding 4 track mainlines around the map that it was going to be a huge part of my time.
