Not that it's mentioned in this article, but I just discovered that Vegemite has been Australian owned again since 2017. Some other brands I stopped buying due to foreign ownership, like Farmers Union and Pura, were also acquired by Bega in 2020.

Bought myself some SAOs and have been putting heaps of butter and vegemite on and squeezing them together to make the worms come out.
Great snack, and makes me feel 5 again!
I didn't grow up here, but my kids love Vegemite, so it must be something about having it young.
Unfortunately, they can't have Milo. It's Nestle, so I won't support child slavery, exploitation of the poor and literal child slavery.
I've moved the the Aldi imitation Milo. There's no way to spin it to say it's as good, it really isn't. But, it satisfies that hole left missing from having Milo.
I'm Aussie but my parents aren't. We never had it and I couldn't stand the smell.
Absolutely refused to eat it, kind of like some claim to fame... until one time I was blind drunk at about 25 and had some. Later I figured the bandaid needed to be ripped off so I tried it again.
It's delicious, but yeah child slavery isnt.
Haha, I don't put it on toast but indonput it in cooking for that umami taste. I think for me it's just too salty more than the yeast or meaty flavour.
Had soup for lunch and had to also whack some butter and Vegemite on some toasted rye!
Confession: I have not eaten Vegemite for breakfast, lunch nor tea for any meal in the past week.
It's probably been about three weeks since I last had Vegemite. Apparently, I hate Australia that much.
