If by "conservative/right wing opinions" you mean the current extremist fascist opinionated MAGA-'my way or the highway' brand of Republicanism, then I sure as hell hope it's unwelcome on Lemmy instances.
If you wish to bring back reason and logic into conservative/right-wing opinions (such as limited government, which means NOT legislating their brand of morality), then I'm all for those viewpoints (not that I would agree with them wholesale, but it's a discussion I'd be willing to take part in).
The real problem with this discourse is that current climate of conservatism is completely closed to reason and logic, completely embraces lies and conspiracy theories as factual, and basically wishes to see all liberals either dead or suffering in some way.
So yeah, keep that shit off Lemmy instances.
This is my thing. MAGA's just stopped operating in reality and the republican party doubled down on it. It's like, pick any topic. Let's pick climate change. The science is settled. There should be no debate on the issue itself, but rather on implementing solutions.
A "true/old school" conservative viewpoint might be: I see the facts and the data. We should address this. We all need a planet to live on. A market based solution is best. Let's use carbon credits so that the free market rewards those that innovate and they can make a healthy profit selling the credits they don't need and will become rich being the top suppliers of clean energy.
A Democrat might respond with: I see the facts and the data. We should address this. We all need a planet to live on. The issue is too important to leave to private companies. We should make rules on emissions and tax the crap out of those that pollute if it's even legal at all.
And then we can have a healthy debate about ideas for solutions. But that's not what current MAGA's/Republicans do. They don't even operate in the same reality. They dismiss fact. They parrot the viewpoints of their propagandists. Instead they make a tiktok of rolling coal in their lifted truck shouting "Suck it snowflakes, engine go BRRRRRR!" Their only discourse contributions are contrarian. The are morally and solution bankrupt. They offer nothing.
My sentiments exactly!
