I don't have a choice of using a pc at the moment. Libretorrent should be fine for now. Thanks for the help in this thread it pointed me in the right direction.

I've fixed the problem. It was infact Libretorrents fault. There's an option buried in the power settings to keep the app awake. Shit should be on by default if you're seeding but I digress. Problem is finally solved. Now I can hopefully knock out the 7 days i need.

So I've tried all that, even turned my phone screen off for awhile to test it and it STILL does it. This is beyond frustrating. I'm starting to think this is a Libretorrent issue. I probably should switch clients after this.

Edit: I seem to have find a possible solution. In the power settings there is an option to keep the phone awake. That to turn it on if the time download speed decreases when the phone screen is off. Download speed isn't my issue here as I'm not download but hopefully this will fix my issue.

Thanks I'll read this over. How ridiculous I even have to do this.

Thanks for the assistance but I've already tried this. It doesn't appear under that. Maybe because I've already set it to unrestricted? Yes I am on an S10.

Edit: I've taken it off unrestricted and then it popped up in never sleeping. I'm pretty sure it will do the same thing but it's worth a shot.

So I have to seed a torrent for up to 10 days. Doesn't sound that big of a deal right? Just leave it running in the background. Here's the problem. Despite me turning off battery optimization on my phone and turning Libretorrent's battery usage to unrestricted it will still for some reason stop seeding in the middle of the night. Because of this, a torrent I started seeding on the 5th is only at 2 days 13 hours!

Is there any way to fix this? Would switching to another client still count for my torrentleech seeding time? I really need to fix this or it's going to take an eternity to reach 10 days of seeding time.

Ah I was told sometime in June. Guess their info was wrong. I thought a physical release was already a thing.

I've been looking all over. Are there any torrents here or there?

Been trying to find a way to do this but it doesn't seem to be a feature yet.

I don't see that much of a point in this unless you're in "they're coming to get me" stages of paranoia.

Yeah I'm not going to pretend like I know the technology but I hope it's possible.

This would be great. I don't want to make multiple accounts if I want to leave an instance. It should be as simple as switching in a menu.

I'm still learning about fediverse so I was a little ignorant when I wrote that part. There will still be a general community and a large chunk of Lemmy will choose 1 side. Whether that be left or right is what we will see in the future. It's pretty much certain a large chunk of Lemmy will lean 1 way or the other. Same as other websites, federated or not.

Thank you guys. I'm surprised my post pulled this much traction and I'm happy to see here that people are more willing to argue in good faith. I don't even entirely agree with conservative politics I have a bit of both sides really. I just wanted to start a discussion since we're still in our early days here. This is like the other comment I've replied to.

Can't wait. I'm sure it will entertaining.

I don't have much of a problem either way as I don't think I'll be engaging in political discussion on this website past this post but it seems like any sort of non-left wing opinions or posts are immediately trashed on here. That's fine. There's clearly a more liberal audience here and that's okay. I just don't want Lemmy to become a echo chamber for any side and it seems to be that way when it comes to politics already.

Mostly making this post just to drum up discussion as I'm new here.

Edit: Thanks for the rational replies. I was expecting to get lit up for even mentioning this topic lol.

Rarbg actually let me know of new releases quicker than any official site. It's the thing I miss the most about it. Hoping there's something similar.
