My first read on this is to be pretty excited; the new dailies system looks interesting, more accessible skyscale will be good for newer players, etc.

Looks great! Always wondered, what that flying isle was going to be doing over there on that map.

The other thing, that they back then setup and abonded unfortunately (until now afaik) was the bird race (don't know the name anymore) kingdom.

The game is great for a "single player" mmo - never found the right momentum into it, with dungeons too shallow and the combat overall mediocre too. I really wanted to like the game and played it back then until the beginning of the first addon (also did 100% map completion). Last year I got back into it, thinking maybe they had improved with raids and dungeons. But my pain points did show up again.

Tengu are the bird people.

As for the rest... I guess my demographic has changed a lot since my sweaty tryhard WoW raider days, but I really enjoy the more bite sized approach to instanced content- I don't have hours of uninterrupted time to dump into a Molten Core style raid, I've got a job and a family. ;)

What MMO do you think does combat better?

Understandable, but I like the group aspect very much, coordinating with everyone in reaching a common goal. This can be achieved in chunks of dungeon content, doesn't have to be the size of MC 😄 but also in landscape content, in GW2 my experience has been, that everyone is minding their own business, only coming (and rushing) together to events (which are in itself still a great system). From my experience the GW2 combat does not promote the group aspect - in contrast it works against it with the turn away from the holy Trinity and pure focus to damage. This results in a dungeon rush mentality, which isn't very much for me. I am still a fan of tab target combat, no fan of the current implementations of action so much. For me the combat does not have to feel smooth, rather impactful and intricate with options to choose from. An action combat, that promotes holy Trinity by offering options to heal, tank and support would be great - much like tera was back in the day - but with the modern focus and fluent design - would be a dream come true.
