Many good choices here. I didn't see Half Life Alyx here yet. It is an amazing game which alone is almost worth the cost of VR.

ID rather not shell out up to and above 1k for an enthusiast item for people with too much money, but thank you

I'm sure it won't be quite as fun since it's designed for VR but still neat!

to be clear you mean more so the worth of a quest 2 rather than an index, right?

I can't stand wired VR anyways

there are ways of making the index wireless if you've got deep pockets.

Honestly from personal experience, for reliability oculus is just a much safer bet than anything steam vr related and I'd rather pay 800 for a quest 2 than 1100 for the index. The difference in image quality is similar to that in scale, about 75% of the way there, and the ecosystem it runs on is close to flawless compared to steam. I know the quest 2 hardware is sold with a slight loss but I'd go as far as calling the valve index a scam for that kind of money.

This game is amazing. I borrowed Index from a friend to play it and I loved every minute of it.
