This is a preventive measure against massive amounts of accounts being created for botting purposes. Most instances banned appear to be 1 user instances so we don't think this will have a great effect on anyone's usage of Beehaw. Beehaw's intention and policy is why I like beehaw. Its mission is to be a community with high rates of constructive contribution, and that's exactly what I'm looking for - not merely a high-traffic relay station.

I do have an account on another instance with looser federations for tracking migrated or niche communities, but it is beehaw that I load when I want to read what people have to say.
