So my Patreon subscription has paid off already! 😁
My first smart phone was a Samsung S3 (?). I upgraded to a OnePlus 7T--which was an awesome phone. Next was a Pixel 6--which I liked enough to get the 7 Pro the day it was available.
I love it! Reliable, nice photos, good battery life. 👍
Probably won't get the Pixel 8--unless it get's ecstatic reviews or something. Will likely upgrade to the Pixel 9 when it comes around.

Regarding the smart watch: I considered it an indulgence when I got it--mostly just very curious.
I would take hostages now if someone tried to take it from me, or it stopped working. And I don't even use every feature...
I'm a Reddit mod and Sync is one of my favorite apps, so that's exciting news! The ONLY reason I have the official Reddit app on my phone is to stay up to date on my chats when they come in.
My first Linux was an Ubuntu that started with a "D". I ended up on Arch for quite awhile when I enjoyed learning and tinkering. For the last couple of years I've been really happy with Manjaro. No tinkering required! 😁

I've been going back and forth between Lemmy and kBin (?). Can't decide which I prefer at this point. I like that kbin has 'tags' when I post a link. (I post a lot of links in my mod role over on reddit.)
I did most of my fediverse learning curve late last year during the twitter migration, so this was no sweat for me.
So far I miss being able to see a graphic associated with links I post--but maybe that feature will arrive one day... I'm prepared to have plenty of patience and look forward to watching how things improve.
It will be interesting to see if this migration matches the twitter adoption curve: lot's of initial excitement, then a big dropping off of participation (which may be a typical pattern of any online adoption?)
