Slashdot, one of the first predecessors to reddit, had ratings good comments like, "insightful", "informative", "funny", "redundant", "off topic", and more.
I always thought it was much better than just I'll or down vote.

Wow. That was quite the read. Thank you very much for sharing that, it definitely clears up a few things that I had sort of intuited, but not really articulated in my own head.
What does it take to spin up an instance and federate? Can I just grab a docker image and go with some cloud Linux instance? What resources are we looking at for what headcount of users / level of engagement? (ie, posts and or connections per minute, etc)
This is the way it will go down.
It's a shame.
I've heard good things about the Well, but never was a part of that community. Is love to see what it's like, maybe I'll check it out.
I think breaks down to:
Sadly, more success might start undermining what's making this a nice place. Hopefully it doesn't, but... ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Thank you for all the amazing things that you and the other founders have done!!
I only ever lurked on reddit, but here I feel welcome and relaxed enough to actually comment. Heck, I might actually post something somewhere! 😁
When the reddit bombshell dropped, I was sad and resigned to losing something. Beehaw has turned that completely around.
Now, I'm excited to be part of this blossoming community and eagerly look forward to something much better than reddit ever was. You and the others who at the groundwork are fantastic people!
Keep up the great work! I plan to be a part of this amazing thing, doing what I can from my little corner to help out.
Bravo!! 😁👏👏👏
I mostly live in the state of exhaustion, though sometimes I get to visit the land of dreams.
Eventually, I expect to move permanently into the undiscovered country...
...I'm just not sure when.
Good. Though I expect it won't change a dammed thing. The Amina know what they're doing, this is a purge of thoughtful culture do they can promulgate the drivel that facilitates ad revenue generating doom scrolling.
I'm excited too, but we should all be chipping in with a little donation to help keep the lights on.
Posting content and comments are good, but a bit of cash to help our new community succeed is critical.
I shall be donating regularly, myself.
