Linux Mint. You'll get a thousand other recommendations which you can perhaps explore once you're more comfortable with Linux but for the easiest most Windows-like experience just get Mint.

You don't even need to ditch Windows completely, if you're uncomfortable with that, because you can dual boot meaning when you turn your PC on it asks would you like to open Windows or Linux

If you don't like it, well, at least you tried. I think you'll have a great time though exploring free software to do tasks you would have had to pay or subscribe to previously.

Take your time, ask questions on forums if you need to, and most importantly, enjoy it. Enjoy the experience of learning how computers actually work, enjoy personalising your machine to truly be your machine.

Good luck, and have fun!

No solutions other than offering a solution.

You're literally using a communist platform right now. Owned and run by "the workers", and free to use.

Charity shops. Fuck feeding fast fashion, poverty wages, and low quality materials for profit.

If the clothes have survived someone else's use and are still in good enough state that a) they were donated instead of binned and b) they were put out for sale instead of binned, then that implies the quality is good enough to last me a couple years as well.

I know my money is going to charity instead of some fashion CEO who will use it to exploit people as much as possible.

And, I'm reusing or recycling clothes instead of them having to be manufactured from new, thus reducing my carbon footprint.

Apart from no guarantee of what you'll be able to find, so finding something specific can be difficult, there's really no downsides. Although depending on your perspective this can also be an upside as it makes shopping less predictable, more spontaneous and thus more fun.

There's hundreds of charity shops to choose from as well, all with varying causes, layouts, quality, products, etc. Give it a go, make shopping fun again!

MSM under the government's orders don't want you to know this one easy trick to make your own ketchup!

The report doesn't urge that at all. It urges a further report be done to determine the advantages and disadvantages as this wasn't fully in the scope of this particular report. They note other countries have done it with success but that the welfare of keeping cats locked indoors all the time would also need to be considered.

The full report is available here:

A good minimalist text based launcher that's open source is Olauncher. Maybe not what you're after (comparing it to Smart Launcher) but thought I'd suggest it just in case.

Not that it'll do much, but signed regardless
