So basically boiling frog slowly.

LOL, sorry but if it is control over my computer vs youtube going away my reasponse is "bye bye, YouTube, don't let the door hit you on the way out"
Gecko (Firefox engine) already is worked on, why not contribute there instead of losing community? If anything why those browsers use engine that is controlled by a single company?
I think Ryan McBeth on his YT channel said the real reason for it.
The cluster munition aren't that useful for trenches and not useful for offensive when there's even a small dud rate (it's not 40% like with Russian cluster bombs, but 2% adds up if you would fire it many times) and you don't want your own soldiers to be blown up by own munition when they advance.
But, if you take the missile, open it up, you get 88 bombs, that can penetrate 4cm of steel. Strap them to a drone and they can be quite scary. Also since they are fired individually, they don't hit each other when falling down which is the primary reason for duds.
Two weeks ago I had no presence on Fediverse, and frankly I still don't know how it works internally, but I can still use it.
It is as hard to grasp as email. Instead of everyone being on gmail.com people just are on different servers but they can still talk to each other.
I do admit that Lemmy is confusing and requires a lot of polish in area of UX, (I think kbin (incidentally created by a Polish) provides a better experience, especially for new users, although it still isn't prefect, but it is getting there), but Mastodon is very simple to use.
The crazy thing is that governments would be much better served if they would run government Mastodon instances for government employees and enforce their own policies on them, than using a private company with its own agenda.
I got one and I wasn't even on Twitter. Also all those people that say Mastodon is hard must have some severe learning disability.
I suspect the real reason is that they are afraid of losing existing followers.
Witcher 3. They very well combined open world with story telling, with tons of side quests, many of which affect the story. The characters aren't one dimensional. For example Bloody Barron is a low life, but also draws sympathy as he pays for his sins from the past. The world is also unforgiving, many times you have to make a decision between shitty option and even shit tier option. The graphics and characters are also very detailed. All of that creates a great atmosphere.
If you haven't played it, you should give it a try.
With lemmy.world I believe the issue was that it was handling that number of users fine, then version 0.18 came and when they upgraded to it their server started struggling.
When you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail.
I would agree with you, but at least in the US majority of conservatives fully embraced those moronic ideas.
The people that call themselves conservatives no longer are conservatives, their only goal is how to hurt "liberals".
At this point true conservatives that still care about the country started voting for democrats or not vote at all, but they are now labeled as RINOS.
I know it is a loaded term, and many will quickly dismiss it, (but it is correct given the definition), but the party was taken over by fascists and real conservatives aren't doing anything to take their party back.
Goggle standard approach to it, is to integrate it so much with other components that it will be a lot of work to disable it, eventually making it impractical.
The right way would be for those clients to switch to gecko engine.
