Loving my latest purchase.

Why do people host Lemmy instances and how do they pay for them? in c/asklemmy@lemmy.ml

I have a pretty unique domain name and don’t mind the $7 a month to run the instance on AWS. I’m not going to do a ton with it, but I would if there was interest.

Bots are trying to join my instance now through the application requirement in c/lemmy@lemmy.ml

Same here. My application asks for something to make me laugh, in code. Had someone post his email in base64 with a joke. funny. So far, 2 bots an hour have been applying. easy to catch, for now.

This has been amazing so far, love the new multiple accounts and I’ve been really enjoying this almost over the web side.

Suggestion, default to ALL communities and TopDaily to give new users a better experience (not that HOT is bad).
