The passoire is simple (see image above). Imagine the intersection by your house or apartment, remove the pavement from corner to corner creating a square of green space, imagine a few large trees, include the sidewalks (if you have sidewalks) and install crossing paths that are big enough for two generous-sized tricycles to pass each other on a warm summer night and blow kisses. Voilà.

Mine was a party line because we lived out in the country. I had to listen real careful for clicking sounds cause our neighbors could pickup and listen to our conversations.

He's crazy enough to run independent, and he's got the Bitcoin vote to fund him. If Trump loses the nomination, I could see the MAGAs switching to him; he's an antivaxxer so he's halfway there, all he needs to do is say some racist shit and he'll clinch it. Perfect spoiler. He's the candidate I endorse on TruthSocial.

ICYMI on The Paceline last week.I am not an economist. You know that, but I’m saying it now, because I’m going to remind you I said it in just a minute. This is what is known, in the rhetorical game, as a set up.So, it’s shaping up to be a tough year

It's too hard to scan for the start/end of nested comment chains. I need to be able to collapse threads.

I disagree with the article you linked. It seems the author believes the purpose of decentralization was to give instance admins "power". I've always said that the Fediverse was just a thousand little Twitters, but some people don't mind that at all. If you just want to run a little community where you can protect yourself from outsiders I guess it's nice.

The way I see it decentralization is about preventing a gatekeeper not making more of them. If you never got your account (and all the content and followers you created with it) taken away by a power tripping moderator you may not understand. You can't deplatform someone from Bluesky, or Nostr, and that is a feature.

Just run your own router and block all the outgoing connections you don't want. I love my EufyCams, they work great and store video on premises. All I have to do is block the connections it makes to send video previews in push notifications.

I need a sign for my security cameras that says something to the effect of "recordings are kept on premises and not made available to anyone outside this house" so my neighbors don't think I'm a narc.

#OxygenNotIncluded, I've got 1500 hours in it and I still haven't gotten to oil, let alone launched a rocket.

Despite checking the "remember me" box when I login, everytime I open the PWA on Android I have to log in again. Anybody else?

Do you use a VPN on the Android box or does your router handle that?

Not necessarily a "piracy" app, but SmartTube is the first app I sideload on an Android TV. It's a generally better YouTube app, but it's ad/sponsorship/intro skipping is 💯!

Better question is how long does the world watch as they do it? We've been here. Fascism doesn't simply stop.
