Hi, I am teacher. I want to make a tutorial site like here or svelte.dev/tutorial or vuejs.org/tutorial to teach basic html, css and javascript to my students. Is that kind of tutorial page custom made or part of lms-apps like moodle or something? is it possible for me to selfhost it? preferably on our school's local network? thanks...

I change the setting on my home feed into subscribe + new comment. Works well for me. All hot posts still takes chunk of first 10 on my homefeed, but really new post is not that far down the line...

mine is: subscribed + new comment.
subscribed because I can control what I saw on homepage and new comment because "new comment" not only include old post with new comment, but also freshly created post.

You can just block all lemmygrad's community, and if their users bothering other instance's community, let the mod block them. lemmyworld is free to choose which instances to federate like you are free to block all user/community you dislike. That is the beauty of federation. cheers.

And yes, we can meke new instances that support our beliefs and that doesnt censor our speech, but then again we dont have an evenly distributed userbase.

I think evenly distributed userbase is not necessary on fediverse as long as users has choice to get what they want. Both admins and normal users are also users, they can desire anything, both good and bad. Any admin that wish bad things will see their instance lost users and defederated by the rest of fediverse and any users that disagree with admin choices can move to the other instaces or set up their personal instance. It happens a lot on microblogging-style part of fediverse, a lot of users okay with that and community wise, it is more or less stable there.

I will use both. I still need to follow some subreddit to get news on money-grabbing-mobile-games I'm addicted to.. lol
I will try to use lemmy more as much as I can though...

nah, I'm bit regretting not signing up on their instance. sh.itjust.works is a cool name and can be a brag point. lol. lemmy world is a bit too generalist, but I won't migrate there as ruud (the admin of lemmyworld) is doing a good job managing the instance. I appreciate that. :)

I think PSG is the one who broke the market by signing neymar. His transfer fee is 222 million euro on 2017. After that, player market irreparably broke due to fear of clubs losing talent to oil backed clubs...

Just a growing pain when there are surges of users like this. Most of instances created with less than 100 in mind but got blown up due to reddit drama and ends up receiving more than 1000 new users and 10x more than anticipated posts/interaction. Nothing new here. Just like microblog-style part of fediverse (a.ka mastodon, pleroma, calckey, etc). The devs and admins will quickly solve the problem in the coming days/weeks.

hello, how is there? I heard kbin.social uses cloudflare and limiting federation because high load causing errors and even my instance at lemmy.world also not responsive albeit still usable rn. how is the load and responsiveness on fedia.io? just courious.

He deserved it. Totally. Nothing less nothing more. He still needs to produce real result next season though, anymore relegation battle and he is out. That is the life for being a football manager.
