I've been interested in Linux since the late 90s and have tried living with it on and off. At this point in my life, it works for most of what I want to do. I have Linux Mint running on one of those mini PCs you can get on Amazon for like $200. If I really need Windows, I have a couple of really old machines I could use. It doesn't happen often.
My PC gaming is limited to mostly classics anyway, so GOG and Steam have enough for me.
Other than that, I need to be able to get online, play some music, edit some photos, and mostly work with text.
As long as they aren't catastrophic failures, I enjoy the...quirks of living with Linux. It's come a long way, but when something goes wrong (and it absolutely will), you're going to have to work for it. Small things are fun and give you a chance to learn. Big things suck.
My library is mostly Sierra and LucasArts adventures. Also a ton of D&D titles I haven't touched.
Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds is an all-time favorite.
For the Sierra titles, I'd highly recommend the first Gabriel Knight.
