This is simply not true. Meta is not duplicating accounts into Threads. Your Threads and Instagram account are the exact same account. You delete one, you delete the other. There is no way to create a Threads account without first creating an Instagram account. And Threads is an opt-in application so you won't have it enabled for your IG account unless you sign up for it.

I am kind of disheartened at the amount of people that do not understand how this works and just scream "Meta = bad".

Your original point is clear, but it's just not true. Meta isn't manufacturing numbers. They just make it super easy to sign up in Threads by enabling everyone that has an Instagram account to log into it. There is really no need to create shadow accounts since you can't create a Thread account without creating an Instragram account first.

I use Pop!_OS (based on Ubuntu). I know it’s a more mainstream distro but it’s super easy to setup with built in Nvidia drivers. Runs most games without an issue using Steam and Lutris.

I also dual boot with Windows for some games but I main Pop. I used a separate drive for the install so I didn’t have to mess with resizing the Windows drive.

It’s pretty straight forward. Had to tinker a little bit to make the boot drive work so I can select between Windows and Linux but nothing super difficult.

I use Kagi. It’s paid but I believe that’s the future (if you don’t pay for the product, you are the product).

Unless I am mistaken devs have to enable them. So games like Call of Duty, Battlefield, Fortnite do not work on Linux.

I also have to tinker to make games work on Linux which is not a great experience (like Diablo 4)

And currently CS:Go crashes when I enable steam overlay.

Don’t get me wrong Linux has come far along. But it’s arguably still not on par for gaming as Windows is. So yes I boot into Windows once in a while to have a better gaming experience and play games that simply do not work on Linux.

I dual boot my gaming PC between Pop OS and Windows. (I Use Linux most but some games anti-cheat only works on Windows). And both my work and personal laptops are Macs with Mac OS on it.

Anyone really surprised? I hope the wheels of justice will start turning a little faster.
