Not to mention rejection/loss of their mothers.

So here are some hybrid elephant/mammoths (because take modern elephant egg and replace parts if it with edited dna, keeping most of the modern cell) ; who probably will experience constant pain and unhealthy feelings due to the editing; having life long psychological issues - with no real place to live except in a nature preserve.

The first viable generation will probably be so messed up they need humans to raise the second generation; and the future generations will probably not feel healthy.

Has anyone ever had to deal with several tons of grumpy issues ? I’m fist it’s not me helping

This is why I totally do not support such efforts, done for things other than the new life’s value

Sometimes it’s better to hope while closing eyes

I’ve lost count of ceasefire deals that almost came through, only to be sabotaged by Israel by the last minute, or day. Or were stillborn because nobody had asked people in Gaza.

Those in the room deflated. “Don’t our law, policy and morals demand it?” an attendee told me later, reflecting on the decision to once again capitulate. “What is the rationale of this approach? There is no explanation they can articulate.”

No!

I commented before reading news, relying on inaccurate half truths.

I mean, I know it will never stop until years later, if that. But for a minute or was hoping it was a little pause

Edit: Israel

I’m totally out of touch with dating today, but I have the opinion it’s harder to date strangers than when I last tried it 35 years ago, because there are fewer places to hang out at; less places to go; less large interactions; less concerts; less bars; less bowling alleys and fewer church events .

Where would I take a date at? Feeding pigeons together?

Any USA president can simply use the full powers to stop the genocide. Israel is basically a client state, and although it has protections against many actions to cut off aid; there is more than one way, has been many ways, to strong arm them.

Reagan used it in the 1980s during one famous phone call that took 10 minutes, most of it waiting for other people to get to the phone, to stop the Israeli army.

The fact Biden refused to do the same, but went on to pretend to always have a peace deal on the brink, may be copied by Trump. It’s a great way to stay in the news cycle. Or he may do a Reagan, or nuke Israel, and/or Gaza, or forget they exist. Or confuse them with Mexicans.

It’s really hard to know what will happen

Left and right, particularly in American politics, are very wishy washy ( definitions easily changed).

The politics have drifted rightwards ( the Overton Window) in the USA the last two generations.

A hard core American socialist these days is more like mildly leftist when compared to different places and times.

Often, in lemmy and other fringe media, this is the first exposure many mainstream Americans get to the real left. And I have to say, having been in the 1970s, most of this left here is cozy and mild and nonviolent compared to what it can become.
