Elvis Costello has taken so many radical departures from his musical style that that’s kind of his musical style.

Born and raised in British Pub Rock, Costello’s Almost Blue album turned country… or perhaps more accurately, in the words of a songwriter he covers on this album… “Cosmic American Music.” I have always admired this Brit’s admiration for, and understanding of, what American Music means, as a genre.

He did an album of old school pop with Burt Bacharach.

He did an album of chamber music with the Brodsky Quartet.

He did an album of… it’s not exactly jazz, in all honesty I say it’s just more cosmic American music… with Allen Toussaint.

He did Marian McPartland’s Piano Jazz.

The guy digs all kinds music, and lets it show.

I’m staying. This may not be the Big Thing, but in my eyes, it’s a worthy contender.

Reddit simply isn’t anymore, if it ever truly was.

The reaction from spez has moved me from “just don’t go back” to “learn enough about scripts to run that salt the earth thing I saw from GitHub.”

This is America: the game plan is cash.

Even among Republicans, Trump has detractors. Even among Floridian Republicans, DeSantis has detractors.

Promote yourself selectively as a comparatively sane and electable alternative… and collect the largess.

Only [3], but I’m technically still at work…

I still have a Twitter account.

I haven’t used it in a long while, but there may be something I want to say in front of as many interactors as possible… so there may be a personal value to it for me, at some point… when I get my shit together in a presentable form.

But Twitter wouldn’t be where my stuff “lived,” it would be a mass mailing type of carpet bomb to attract people to “my place,” where they could dig into what I was saying with me.

I have YouTube for the same reason.

Discord seems the same to me. No, it’s not the place to set up your personal camp. But it can be a place to interact with a novelish audience, with the intent to fully interact with those so inclined elsewhere.
