I'm also pretty sure that you have to specify a share. Like //192.168.50.1/$Share. IIRC.

If you only need data storage, then seafile is your tool of choice.

Also Nextcloud, but Seafile for file syncing. The only reason for Nextcloud for me is the calendar webinterface.
