Harris basically flopped in the '20 primaries and was most useful as a compromise VP candidate. She's power hungry, but has no principles which would harm Biden's campaign or governing. She has also failed to build her own wide base of support outside the traditional dnc power players.

She may have aspirations for CA governorship, presidency, or a return to the Senate in the future. She's still comparatively young and is likely planning for a long career after the VP.

Is this an argument for protection of European industries from US capital?

The metrics used account for European industries which are acquired by US firms as American. If it's a zero sum competition, letting US companies aquire EU industries is the EU 'losing'.

Instant gets much higher extraction than any other form of brewing. Hypothetically, it's more likely to extract trace metals at higher concentrations than other methods.

Interesting, considering Intel's Linux support is often quite a bit better at launch.

Tf2 the first year after launch was perfect for me. What it's become is very different from what it was.

Like 'hover boards' current 'ai' does demonstrates passable facimile of intelligence is possible within specific domains. But it is being marketed as if it is the thing it approximates.

The main difference is, a sufficiently advanced simulacrum of intelligence has the same utility as genuine intelligence to capital.

I think a lot of people fall into the ideological trap of imagining humans as something outside of and distinct from nature. We are natural creatures that have evolved with and adapted to our environment for entire existence.

Human alteration of our habitat is natural, but that doesn't necessarily mean good or bad for your given values.

Recognizing that existing in an environment inherently alters it is part of learning how humans function as part of ecosystems rather than as masters.

As someone who didn't study CS, why is general AI impossible?

This plus hiding Twitter from logged out users has destroyed what little public communication utility Twitter had.

It's now basically Musks private forum, where he paid billions to be a mod.

Proponents of reform must demonstrate reform is possible and can meet the challenges of massively altering power dynamics embedded in the system.

Reform has to prove itself by making revolution unnecessary.

Exactly, payments processing requires a Chain of Trust where each step can be verified as a known, trusted, actor.

The government could reasonably enact a more open standard using digital currency, but you would still depend on your device being trusted to handle payments.
