Ditto the FOSS love, if that makes you nuts then I guess we both are!
How well has BoTW been running on Steam Deck for you? If I could run that and ToTK emulated on a Deck I think that would be the final nail in the coffin for my switch

Seems we have even more in common! I primarily write C# too (mostly asp.net core), working in the financial industry right now. At the moment I'm working on bringing most of our workers and messaging structure to the Cloud, lots of cool stuff but can be full of roadblocks lol. What do you find yourself working on? My wife is just entering month 8 of her pregnancy - I'm sure you know the combination of excitement and terror I'm feeling knowing it's almost time!
Hi everyone, I'm big_tabb! Like several other commenters here, I'm a Reddit user who is dissatisfied with their current policies and am looking to explore the federated space more. I find myself missing the smaller-forum feel more and more and am hoping Beehaw scratches that itch.
I am a backend developer by trade and am passionate about all things programming, gaming, and tech in general (especially if that tech is open source.) I'm also a pretty big reader, mainly sci-fi and fantasy. On the more personal side, I am in my late twenties, pronouns he/him. In a few months I will be becoming a Dad for the first time so that is the main focus of my life right now; when not with family or working, at the moment you can mainly catch me playing Tears of the Kingdom.
Feel free to reach out and chat - looking forward to getting to know this space and you all!
I think I can trace the start to YoYo Games GameMaker, I remember feeling a little restricted by their event chaining system and wanting to learn a bit more how game scripting works. That led me to taking a "Computer Programming" class in high school (building simple Windows application in Visual Basic), which led to me studying Comp Sci in college. As I'm sure is the case for many nerds-turned-devs, most of the inspiration for wanting to learn at first was to understand how games work, and the curiosity spread from there!
