This is awesome, would you be open to contributions outside the realm of spam prevention?

I've been working on some scripts/apis to pre-search communities from federated instances so they immediately show up within an instance's search capability. Was also thinking about doing a bot account to auto subscribe.

Seems like this could fit with the whole overseer/curation theme. Would you agree or nah?

Hey! Awesome, thanks for commenting!

+1!

Great idea that I think really vibes with the instance focus.

I've been thinking about self-hosting my own instance just for friends and family after the drama of different instances defederating others.

But I have a tactical question that I can't find the answer to. When you self host your own instance are you automatically federated across all the other instances? Can you interact and comment?

Yeah that's correct. It's called docker compose. Everything is declarative and it can be stood up and torn down with a single command.

When I was setting myself up I referenced this project quite a bit:

You can pick and choose the parts you want.

I've had issues with Plex not scanning all of my media. Not sure if it has to do with the format that lidarr stores music on disk or what. Have you had this issue?

Really the only safe, cheap and sustainable way nowadays is to use docker + gluetun + mullvad VPN (or your preferred VPN.

VPNs are cheap and they're worth it.

Great idea! I've got some nice old wood scraps and this design makes them go far!

This turned out so good!! Nice work. I've yet to dip my toes in the epoxy world. This looks awesome.

Finish looks great with the danish oil. Have you tried Odie's oil yet?

Oh good to know. Is that all of lemmy or just the app?

Thanks! Good luck with your upcoming project.

I posted this on Reddit awhile back when I finished the build.. but thought I would share on here in an effort to get to know people! Hope that's allowed.
