That sucks. So, people that worked and EARNED the right to live somewhere nice with property to enjoy now have to watch their property values tank along with having riff raff move into their neighborhood. Yeah, great. Now, that nice suburban home that someone worked hard for to buy is next to subsidized rentals.

Zoning laws are great and people need to fight to keep them. The goal should be to get people to improve their financial position so they can afford to live in the burbs too.

More money being pissed away on Ukraine? Wow. That Zalensky guy must have photos of a naked Biden with some White House aide or whatever. This is a joke and a massive abuse of US taxpayer money. When does this end? How is the US benefitting from this? Oh, we aren’t at all. Hmmm. I wonder if there is something behind the scenes going on here? Like some other motive? I mean, it’s the Biden’s….. sort of a shady track record.

And don’t gimme a bunch of whataboutisms either. Don’t care. This Ukraine thing is a farce. Enough. We’re done.

No....taxing them doesnt get rid of them. Rich people have plenty of money to pay fees/fines/penalties. That being said, there is no reason for overly draconian measures either. This climate thing is a tad oversold. Sensible, affordable solutions that dont wreck our way of life can work. Nothing more than that.

Hmmm. Isnt there a fine line between free speech though and trying to protect kids? It’s clear that kids need some protecting. Take a look around. Lots of predatory content out there and plenty of weirdos looking to capitalize. This bill might not be the best way to do this but it would be nice to filter some of the filth on the internet and keep it away from the wrong audience.

Pro Tip: Dont commit crimes and then you wont be in jail. mmm Kay? Cool, glad we sorted that out.

It really is. It wouldnt take that long & would do a damned fine job of powering all kinds of stuff. Period.

Nope, there isn’t. Despite what the green gang thinks. Not a chance. Hence, nuclear is the logical choice.

[–] TheMage@lemmy.ml 10 points 1 year ago

Good. The entire country needs to get past the dumb belief that nuclear power is dangerous. We could solve a lot of energy issues with nuclear power but for some "reason" it gets a lot of resistance. Why? Are the windmill and solar companies scared that nuclear is way better than what they have to offer? Are politicians and others that stand to heavily profit from the usual green initiatives worried that they won’t be lining their pockets enough?

LOL. Banned on reddit is a badge of honor. It means you tweaked the underpants of the purple-haired admins by NOT shlepping up the left wing diatribe. :)

First off - that Texas. There are numerous states with way lower tax bills than Taxifornia. Secondly, I was replying to the comment that we ought to "make sure no more Republicans win any elections" or whatever it was. While Repugs have their own issues, the stuff coming out of democrats pie-holes these days is scary. But, we're off track. Fine.

[–] TheMage@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

We must assure that the hyper progressive democrats don’t take over so the whole country doesn’t end up like California. That’s the real scare here. Sorry but not everyone is buying what democrats are selling. People are feeling high tax, blue states for a reason. Those are the facts.

Wow, Paul Krugman is still employed? Terrific. Hmm, let’s see. The Climate change agenda is an "issue" because it reeks badly of ulterior motives. Like, control the 'little people" and burden them with obnoxious regulations, rules and whatever else while the wealthy just go on doing as they please. As soon as this gets brought up, the celebs and politicians scatter like ants being sprayed with raid. They fly around in jets, we can’t fly or have to fly like 5th class. No gas powered cars for us but they can have Ferrari collections. We have to live in stacked, crappy apartments while they party it up in their gated mansions. Sorry, not happening. As soon as they hand it all over in the name of climate we can talk. Mm Kay? Good.

Trust the science. Sure, Jan. Why not parade Fauci out there again? LOL.
