Good. The entire country needs to get past the dumb belief that nuclear power is dangerous. We could solve a lot of energy issues with nuclear power but for some "reason" it gets a lot of resistance. Why? Are the windmill and solar companies scared that nuclear is way better than what they have to offer? Are politicians and others that stand to heavily profit from the usual green initiatives worried that they won’t be lining their pockets enough?

No thanks.
Is there another way we can reliably meet current and future energy demands?
Of course there is. As the planet becomes more inhospitable to human life, demand will go down, eventually reaching zero.
I like the cut of your jib.
Nope, there isn’t. Despite what the green gang thinks. Not a chance. Hence, nuclear is the logical choice.
I'm a green gang member and think nuclear is the only way atm
It really is. It wouldnt take that long & would do a damned fine job of powering all kinds of stuff. Period.
It's a hurdle out of the way, and I've got some tempered enthusiasm as long as ComEd doesn't touch it.
Unfortunately any construction is going to have a long enough tail the opportunity to grift off this one will outlive JB. Maybe we defy gravity for once in Illinois.
What’s JB waiting for?
Probably a couple thousand bucks to appear in his pocket
