In no particular order (and yes some are more well known in film circles, maybe I should've ommited them, but you never know what the reader hasn't seen):

Jojo Rabbit, 2019 - a comedic coming of age in Nazi Germany. Jojo and his imaginary friend, Hitler, face a complicated and rapidly changing world.

The Mitchells versus the Machines, 2021 - animated family adventure for fun with the whole family.

Rise of Leslie Vernon, 2006 - mocumentary following slasher killer Leslie Vernon.

Bunny and the Bull, 2009 - an, in my opinion, gorgeously set film about two friends on a road trip in Spain.

Parallel Mothers (Madras Paralelas), 2021 - not a hidden gem if you know anything about Spanish cinema, but maybe you don't. Penolpe Cruz is a new mother whose life becomes intertwined with another women's when they give birth in the same hospital.

Hero (英雄), 2002 - again, if you know Wuxia film then this isn't a hidden gem. A pinnacle of the genre, a Chinese Rashomon with wire fights.

Blow Up, 1966 - British New Wave classic. A photographer used to a free and casual 60s life becomes certain he has accidentally photographed evidence of a murder.

Berberian Sound Studio, 2012 - exploration of sound and feeling. A mild mannered amateurish British sound technician gets a big job working on the sound effects for a giallo film in Italy.

Martyrs, 2008 - the pinnacle of French New Extreme movement. It made a big name for itself at the time for being the sort of torture porn film that really gave it a point beyond vouyerism. Not for the faint of heart.

Rye Lane, 2023 - a romcom love letter to London.

The Day Shall Come, 2019 - an eccentric black preacher gets caught up in a web of madness that runs deep.

Not enough (any) in client tracking of match results and what the match up was.

No way to really combo off. Let me demonstrate a loop and do it X times please.

Probably made by a promising young man.

Palm Springs - watched it without any info on what it was about or what would happen and enjoyed it hugely as a result.

A box of fancy herbal teas, produced by a company with links to a bizzare cult.

Flying New York to London via Russia-adjacent Artic?

Nice details, and good to see frogs doing well. I too saw Treeguard Duo putting in a lot of work, even outside of frogs.

Its probably the archetype I'm most excited to try along with lizards and bats.

Nice open, Kastral is a strong one. Congrats on the 3-0.

How did you all get on at your prereleases?

Looks to be a synergy set as despite opening Lumara, Maha, and almost one of each of the reanination spells in the set I went 2:1. =ł ah well.

Matched up against a fun deck blinking Head of the Homestead with the token class enchantment. Luckily it doesn't do well against Vren the Relentless.
On the other hand it turns out that Azure Beastbinder is a top tier threat, and synergy can beat power.

Still I can't complain about opening chase cards. What about all of you? Any fun interactions or moments from your prerelease?

Me too. We have plenty of bones of people who lived into old age with signs of disability or having been crippled.

But the overall stats not only do I not know, but since we only have a relatively minor number of data points it's hard to really say any of us will ever know.

What we have does tend to point to being better than a medieval city iirc, and I think the general consensus amongst anthropologists is that the transition to agriculture saw a decrease in life expectancy.

That too.

Even the humble napped flint.

Pretty sure that "dead by 50 thing" includes all the infant mortality.

I bet he's also using the stats from peak mortality of European late middle ages with urbanisation but no good sewers.

Delightfully failing to be either but with a huge sense of superiority and disdain for the youth and migrants.

Anyone manage to win with either of the artifact decks (Token Resistance and Artifact or Fiction)?

The others all seem to go hugely over the top, or just trample over them each time I try to play them.

New reach effect in arena to make it very obvious.

Secret reach is now instant speed tricks only. =( (Though I've attacked into more than my share of reaching cyclops.)

Give me mormir over this degenerate rubbish. -_-

BBRR 5/5 rare legendary dragon scorpion rogue

Flample (flying, trample).
Sac 3 creatures: put a creature card from your hand onto the battlefield. Activate at sorcery speed, and only once per turn.

Kinda underwhelming, despite the somewhat unique ability. Still, 5/5 flample for 4 is very good.

Edit: totally assumed the card was mythic, that'll teach me to post when I'm tired. This is much more influential in limited then.

Uncommon land - desert

T: add C.
3: target creature can't block this turn, activate only as a sorcery.

Haste
When ~ enters the battlefield, another target creature you control gets +1/+1 and gains haste until end of turn.
Plot 1R

Finally a plot card that looks like it makes back some of the tempo. Maybe we'll see some more in the days to come.

GWU mythic legendary creature - human faerie rogue

Flying, lifelink
Whenever you cast a spell from anywhere except your hand, you may cast a permanent spell with equal or lesser CMC from your hand without paying its mana cost. If you don't you may put a land card from your hand on to the battlefield.

3GB mythic Creature - mount
Trample, haste, saddle 1
Whenever ~ deals combat damage to a player, you may sacrifice a creature that saddled it this turn. If you do, draw X cards and then play upto X land cards from your hand where X is the sacrificed creatures power.
