The first couple of episodes were a bit slow as I tried to figure out what type of show it was trying to be. I'm done with season 1 now and will def keep it on the watchlist for season 2.

No change to "not a sin to be gay, it is a sin to have gay sex". Add on that gay couples are now officially "irregular".

Wow, great strides there. (👈sarcasm)

This is just removing the previous Pope's cronies. There's nothing in the article to make me think the Pope is putting in systemic fixes to prevent his own cronies from worming their way into positions from which they can abuse their power.

I would expect any pope or leader to remove those around him who are loyal to someone else.

Ok, that does help. Thank you!

The Thing (1982). I keep meaning to watch the 2011 remake, then I decide I should watch the original first to refresh my memory, then I don't feel like putting myself through the 2011 version anymore.

Season 2 of Vigil.

A Murder at the End of the World.

What is the punchline you see in American media about Indian food?

The stereotype of Indian cuisine is that it sometimes has really strong flavor, sometimes a strong smell to match. Those are not bad things.

I don't have any overall negative associations with Indian food. There are certainly dishes that don't appeal to me, but if anyone wanted to go to an Indian restaurant for dinner, I would say "yes, please".

Edit: I see some comments about "spicy diarrhea" jokes. I see those as a function of people not acclimated to spicy food, not that the spicy food itself is bad. I'm impressed by people who can eat full spicy level Indian food. I would be on a toilet for a day if I ate fully spicy level; that's my problem, not the fault of Indian cuisine overall.

I've only used Yubikey when work mandated them for a while. Didn't last long until they moved to a push-to-phone-app system instead. It was fine, just irritating to carry around one more physical thing.

And I prefer a smartphone based app in personal life. I use Authy, keeping my backup codes in several safe locations and separate from where I keep password vault backups.

There's probably some super duper FOSS alt to Authy but I haven't spent the time to look for it.

Body wash and long hair shampoo plus conditioner takes me 10 minutes, full shaving routine takes me another 10. Yes, I listen to music through a bluetooth speaker. Yes, the quality is what one would expect from an inexpensive speaker the size of a soda can.

No, I don't blare music when people are sleeping.

I benefit from it as much as I do from listening to music at any other time? It's entertainment.

What is age confusion? And at what age can one expect to think that murdering multiple children and adults is ok?

So far I've gone from baby all the way to middle age without ever thinking I should murder multiple people. I would even go so far as to say the vast majority of people make it through all ages without murdering.

I keep my vault password in fireproof containers in two separate off-site locations. And I use BitWarden, which has an emergency access process. I would assume many other vaults do too.

2FA backups are also stored in locations separate from where I have the vault password.

I also backup my vault a few times a year and keep those encrypted in another digital location.

I didn't even read the whole thing, TBH. It's been a while, I'll have to see if I still have access via the link he sent me. That's even more blatantly sleezy than I was thinking. If he actually managed to build any sort of following, they might be interested to see what he attempts to put in his NDAs.

Gross. Well today is a "losing hope in humanity" kind of day.

I didn't sign for a weird thing.

I was going to go on a first date when the guy asked me to sign an NDA. He was attempting to be a content creator on YouTube, tiktok, etc., and thought he needed to start "protecting his reputation". I declined the date.
