Fair point. It's not the worst investment a person could make.

EDIT: I'm well aware that my idea of an expensive watch is way below some of y'all's. In my mind a high quality watch costs about £200; the idea that somebody would spend four or five figures on a watch when the same money would buy a decent car is absolutely offensive to me...

 

I bought this for £15 from eBay because I wanted an LED watch, and I liked the 1970s retro chunky bracelet vibe. I know SKMEIs get very mixed reviews and this one is definitely on the low end of the quality spectrum. I'd be interested in buying a high quality version of the same but I'm not sure what that would be. I love the Bulova Computron, but I haven't really got £300 to drop on a watch right now. Anyone got any ideas what might scratch this itch, last more than a year and not cost the Earth?

Why the fuck anyone would spend this much on watches when they could spend the same on a boat, a helicopter or a small villa in the mountains is beyond me. It doesn't impress me at all. It seems absolutely batshot insane.
